Greetings & Happy Heat Wave!

I recently returned from the I-Act (International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy) National Convention, which is always a motivating and exciting experience. This year the convention was held in Orlando, Florida at the Sea World Renaissance. I experienced a delay in travels due to some crazy weather, as you can see from this picture below, shot outside of Denver International Airport just prior to my landing.

With a little patience, I finally made it! I was so pleased to get to see one of my favorite speakers and health advocates, Brenda Watson and listen to her passionate talk titled "The Heart of Perfect Health".

Visit Brenda Watson's website: www.BrendaWatson.com

At this years convention we had other amazing speakers and topics including "Hormones are a Symphony" by Dr. Thomas Moraczewski M.D.,, "How to Achieve Perfect Health in the 21st Century" by Dr. Helene Leonetti M.D. and other speakers talking about busisness building, legalities, insurance and record keeping.

I also enjoyed seeing my favorite twins and colon health gurus Pam and Trish Craig.  And yes, that is me with Shamu.

I highly recommend attending the annual conventions though I-ACT.  It is not only the best way to obtain continuing education but is also a great opportunity to meet others in this field.  The relationships I have developed though I-ACT have been lasting and the best ongoing support I could imagine.

Please join me here in Eugene at Alder Brooke Healing Arts and experience serenity in my garden sanctuary AND join me on the Big Island of Hawaii at Kona Gold, and let's ride some healing waves! Until then, may all the Blessings Be! Aloha!

Tara's Favorite
Summer Sauce:

I have been loving this simple salad dressing/sauce recipe for several weeks now, and most of the ingredients are already in your kitchen! Here's what I've been using:

2 T Miso
Thumbnail Ginger root
2-3 Cloves Garlic
Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
(1-1.5 med)
1 T Balsamic Vinegar
2 tsp Honey

Keep in mind that when I make things in my kitchen I don't typically measure, so most things I just eye-ball on the measurements and add more of certain ingredients as needed, to taste.

Making Kefir

A while back I ordered myself some kefir starter grains by Donna Gate's Body Ecology brand. If you are not familiar with kefir, it is a fermented beverage which packs a large amount of beneficial bacteria (good for your gut health and overall health) into a yummy drink or yogurt-like product.

Here are Donna Gates's simple secrets for making the "Perfect Batch" of homemade coconut water kefir, Click HERE.

I highly recommend experimenting with making your own varieties of kefir and adding ingredients like pineapple and mango for some more exotic flavors!

My friend Luna taught me how to make a cashew mango kefir.  We soaked about a cup and a half of cashew, and about a cup of pitted dates fjor a few hours then strained them.  We add both to my Vita Mix with water and meat from one ripe juice mango.  We blended it till smooth then added kefir grains and gave another mini blend.  We then poured it into a 2 quart canning jar filling it to the rounded part leaving room for growth.  We placed a lid on top but didn't seal it to avoid an explosion.  We stirred it with a wooden spoon every few hours until letting it sit for the night.  When we woke we had the most delicious and nutritious smooth creamy cashew mango kefir.  Yummy!
