Further Digestive Support
Consider these possibilities for balancing
your digestive health…
Oils: Essential fatty acid (EFA) is found in oil rich food from nuts, seeds & greens to fish. For oil supplementation consider flax, hemp, borage, evening primrose, wheat germ or cod liver oils. These oils should be kept in dark containers and refrigerated. Probiotics: These friendly floras aid in providing an eco system rich with beneficial bacteria that you may find necessary to replenish after antibiotic use, high stress or cleansing. Bacterial balance is part of your immune system & some vitamin manufacturing. Enzymes: Digestive enzymes derived from living foods aid in digesting cooked food. Some enzyme supplements include hydrochloric acid (HCL) which is needed for digestion. Rejuvelac: This fermented drink may be made from soaking wheat berries, rye berries, millet or barley for 12 hours. When these or other soaked grains are strained, the liquid is high in friendly bacteria and when consumed may populate the intestines aiding in balance. Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Gel: Heals tissues throughout the entire digestive tract or area of focus. Mix with liquid and note this may have a mild laxative effect so consume gradually. Dietary Chlorophyll: This supplement is known to nourish and oxygenate the entire system. It aids in detoxifying the intestines and may assists in ileo-cecal valve function. Potassium: Helps maintain electrolyte balance and aids with water absorption in the body. Bentonite Clay water: Mix one tablespoon in 2 cups of water in the morning and at night with your fiber drink. This is a highly absorbent medium with a negative electrical charge that will bond with most positive electrically charged toxins in the intestine. In combination with fiber and extra water this may help enable deep detoxification. Health Drink: Used for oxygenation and healing of the digestive tract. Mix one oz of whole leaf aloe vera juice with one teaspoon of dietary chlorophyll, or whole food based vitamin and mineral supplement in juice, tea or water every morning.
Fresh Vegetable Juice: Live enzymes enhance nourishment without taxing the digestive tract. When consuming for therapeutic value it is best to drink 2 pints of the freshest juice. Water: Consume purified water daily as your primary
beverage. Note your body weight and divide by 2 to determine how many
ounces are optimal for you to consume daily.
Further digestive support via external stimulation
Colon Massage: Increases peristalsis and may stimulate release. After a warm herbed tea or a glass of lemon water, massage from right to left, up, across and lightly down. Slant Board: Position yourself to elevate your colon and get gravity working the other direction. Maybe try something between your mattress and box spring while you sleep. Skin Brushing: Aids in lymphatic movement, stimulates blood flow and helps detoxify the skin. Brush before showering vigorously toward the heart in all regions. Rebounding: Jump on a mini trampoline for a minimum of 2 minutes per day to move the lymph. This assists the detoxification process and also may stimulate your bowel. Hydrotherapy Bath: To detoxify, take a salt (Epsom, Dead Sea or Himalayan crystals) or a powdered ginger bath the evening following a colonic for up to 20 minutes. Hot/Cold Therapy: To increase circulation to blocked
areas of the body direct water pressure to that place or aim at the
chest. In the shower, begin with a 40-60 second interval of as hot of
water as tolerated followed by 15-30 seconds of very cold water. Perform
up to 7 sets of therapy ending with cold in the morning and hot in the
evening.
